About Portland French Drains
Portland French Drains is focused on helping property owners understand exterior drainage problems and connect the problem to the appropriate drainage solution. Coverage is Portland, Maine and selected communities in Cumberland County, Maine, listed on the service-areas pages.
The work this site describes is outside the house: standing water, wet lawns, downspout runoff, surface pooling, water between homes, and grading. Interior waterproofing, basement drainage, and sump-pump installation are not services offered here.

A French drain is one exterior method — a gravel trench that collects water in the soil. Surface drainage (catch basins and grates), downspout drainage, and grading or swales solve different parts of the same wet-yard picture. The useful first step is identifying whether the water is on the surface, in the soil, or coming off the roof.
Homeowner education is part of that process. The resource guides and the decision page explain those distinctions before anyone picks a product name. For the six exterior services, see drainage services.
This about page does not list years in business, crew size, licenses, certifications, awards, reviews, or a physical office. Those facts are not stated on this site. To talk through a yard, call 207-870-9502 or Get Drainage Help.
